Uploaded Ancestry Tree Disappeared.

I used to have a small tree (300 persons) and a larger tree (4000 persons) uploaded from FTM 2012 to Ancestry.

Several weeks ago I deleted both and replaced them with a larger up-to-date tree. Even though this was several weeks ago, a number of researchers have indicated that they are not able to view my tree. They say it is unavailable or stopped by the owner, (which does apply of course to the deleted trees) but the new tree should be available for viewing as a Public Tree. When I investigate on Ancestry myself, I am advised that one of my old trees has been classified Private by the owner, which is not true, as it was deleted.

How can I reach a point where others can gain access to my new current tree?

Have you made it a Public tree?

David,

I just visited your profile and see 1 public tree of 4992 people.

It is possible that trees have not been indexed since you uploaded. The indexing schedule has been somewhat irregular of late.

You could direct the interested persons to your profile page to access the tree.

Good luck!

Thank you. That may help explain the problem.

It appears that people trying to access my old trees (deleted a few weeks ago) are still receiving the message advising that they are private (and not deleted). I would have thought that it would not take long for Ancestry to take down the old trees?

"I would have thought that it would not take long for Ancestry to take down the old trees?"

See attached from ancestry site instructions - which errs on the short side, in my experience.

Ah, that helps further explain things, especially if (as you say) a month errs on the short side.

Thank you.
