Did you really mean FTM12 (from several years ago), or the current version: FTM2012?

In days gone by, this was referred to as an "Ahnentafel Table".

I miss that format as well and have made it one of my annual enhancement requests.

This format presents one line to an ancestor, with possible columns to present info on that same line, like date and place of birth and whatever else might fit on one line.

I encourage you to also make such an enhancement request - the more people requesting it may mean the more likely they will listen.

In the meantime, about all we can do is:

1) try to strip all we can from the current Ahnentafel report - don't include children, don't include facts and such. But notice that name, birth, death and marriage facts cannot be removed from this format.

or

2) Develop a custom report around a Custom Fact for ahnentafel numbers. Custom Reports can be exported as a spreadsheet, one record to a line.

Yes, I did mean FTM2012. Oops. I will request that as well. I will try the Custom Report as you have suggested. Thanks so much.

At the person tab of the People Workspace, click on the big "Plus" sign in the upper right, that signifies to add a Fact.

Note in the right panel of the "Add Fact" screen is a button for "New". Click on that. You can add the full name, short name and abbreviation for it.

Keep in mind that custom facts may, or may not, be imported by other genealogy into their databases.

You might also explore using other software to do this report. As I recall, Personal Ancestral File did an Ahnentafel Table.

PAF is free and you can easily export and import a gedcom file to it and then do an Ahnentafel Table. Just do a Google search for a download site.

It's been a few years since I used PAF, so I might be remembering wrong, but it might be worth checking out.
