I have copies of the four volumes of OSB for Nagold as well as Walddorf, Oberjettingen, Oberschwandorf and will look up an ancestor for you if you believe that the person comes from that area. The four volumes titled Nagold including the immediate surrounding area of Nagold as well as the city itself. Let me know if I can help you.

Nancy,
I have an ancestor, James Gunther, who was born at Oberschwandorf in Germany on 12 May 1806. His father is believed to be Jacob Gunther, a landowner of Oberschwandorf. This information has all been obtained from secondary sources. Would you be kind enough to check what information is available in the church records on this family.
Kind regards,
Bill

Hello there, I was told that you could help me find some information about my family. I am looking for the Surman Roehm (Rohm, Rehm). I have so many of them, But I can not find any connection between any of them yet. He is a couple of them.

Christine Roehm Born Abt. 1788 is the mother of a John Jacob Roehm Abt. 1803 He married a Magdalene ?(Iser). They had 4 known Children: Christopher Ludwig (Louie) Roehm B. Nov 26, 1833 Lena Roehm B. Abt. 1836, Catherine Roehm B. 1838 and Moriah Agnes Roehm B. Nov. 28, 1841.

Now This Family came to the States about 1849. This family is said to be from Lulz, Oberant, Nagold, Kingdom of Wurtemburg, Germany. But I do not know nothing about Germany, or if this is a real place. I do remember that Moriah Agnes Roehm married a John Bernhart Roehm April 27, 1862 in Georgetown, Brown County, Ohio. Now John Bernhart Roehm is said to be the son of a John Simon Roehm. He this family is also said to have come from the same place. I also remember that John Bernhart is supossed to have come over here with a nannie because he was adopted, because he parents were either died or did not want him. John Bernhart Roehm was Born Feb. 11, 1839.

I hope that you can help me connect this Roehm's with all the other Roehm's that is from these other places. Sulz Im Dorf, Sulz Am Eck, Nagold, Oberant, Oberjettingen, Herenburg, Schwarzwaldkeries, Wuerttemberg, Germany. This other places is were the rest of the Roehm's I have is from. It kind gets confusing after a while. I really hope that this is enough information.

Sincerely,
Michael S. Welch.

P.S. If you could email me at Msbsanw2003@yahoo.com. Thanks again.

Nancy,

I am looking for info on the Wehrstein and Geissler families that lived in Gündringen. Specifically, I am looking for the family of Caspar Wehrstein b. 1723/4 d. bef 1808, and the family of Josef Geissler b.1739 d. 1800.

The church records for Gündringen begin in 1808, but I am wondering if you might have earlier info from the Ortssippenbuchs. Gündringen is located right between Iselshausen and Schietingen and I believe those records are in the Nagold 3 Ortssippenbuch. But it is possible the info is in the other books as well.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello Kathy,

I've found emigrants from Guendringen to Newark NJ middle of the 19th c.
Zachaeus KLINK, b. 16 Jul 1831 in Guendringen, married Barbara GEISLER (GEISSLER), b. 6 Dec 1829 in Guendringen, at St. Mary's Church in Newark on 4 Jul 1854.
Barbara's parents were Vinzens GEISLER and Creszens BAUMGARTNER.

Also in Newark from abt 1852 on was Anton BAUMGARTNER, b. 5 Dec 1797 in Guendringen, with 7 children and probably also his wife, Johanna NESCH, b. 13 Jul 1800 in Guendringen. I have no parents for Johanna. Anton BAUMGARTNER died in Newark 15 Apr 1857.

Do you see any connections to your GEISLER or NESCH?

Best regards

George Meister

George,

Yes, both are cousins in my line. However, I wasn't aware they had immigrated. Are you related? Please email me if you are interested in more info. Thanks so much!

I'd be so happy if you were able to find information on Philip Wetzel, wife Louisa, and children Amelia (19), Hugo (15), Emilie (5) and Ida (2) who emigrated to America in 1851. The Wuerttemberg Emigration Index gives Philip's birthplace as Enztal and District is listed as Nagold. This family settled in Wisconsin (Dodge, Jefferson, and Monroe Counties). Is there any information on them in the Ortssippenbuchs? Thank you in advance for your help. LeeAnn Wetzel
