Am interested in any source material and especially photographs of subject church. Date it was constructed, date it was moved to Schulenburg. What happened to the congregation of this church? Where did/do they worship after ist was moved. Any fragment or leads appreciated. Thanks

Old Salem Lutheran Church records are archived in historical museum in Weddish Museum in Serbin, TX. I have some of the records, birth, confirm. death etc. They can be very difficult to read.
According to "Fayette County; Past & Present" p. 144
"The Philadelphia Evangel. Lutheran Church has had fourteen pastors. On May 1967, a merger took place between the Trinity Evangel Lutheran Church, Black Jack Springs, The SALEM EVANGEL LUTHERAN Church, Swiss Alp. The new congregation is now called the United Evangel. Lutheran Church, Swiss Alp."

Hal,
I have also viewed the Freyburg records at Serbin. They are difficult. The museum also has copies of other church records in the area, particularly of the German/Wend congregations. Are you a "Stall" of that area...Fayette/Colorado County? My wife's g-grandmother had distant relatives in this area who came from the Cincinnatia/Reading area. Any connection? C.B.
