I am looking for information for a friend of mine. Her Grandparents were from Shawano County. The Grandfathers name was Henry Huntly. He married Emilie Rubenhorst (sp.?)
Rabenhorst there in 1870. Emilies fathers name was Wilhelm.
Henry and Emilie died before 1934. That is the year my friend was born. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Tonya

I was doing some research myself on my family(Schutte) who live in Mapleton,MN. I found that name Anna E. Rabenhorst was sister to Amelia Rabenhorst 1859-1953 who married my great grandfather Herman C. Schutte 1855-1951. They came from Germany about 1881 and had 8 children, one of which was my grandfather Herman Albert Schutte b.11-15-1888,d.march 1986. Anna appears to have had brothers John,Herman,Carl, and sisters Augusta,Amelia, and Marie. From what I found,John married an Amelia, they had a son John who married Alma Detjen, they had a son Edgar John Henry Rabenhorst who was one of our neighbors. I have more info on some of the rabenhorsts in the Mapleton area also.

Bruce: I found a couple more dates. Your grandmother,Anna Elizabeth Sophie Rabenhorst who married your grandfather Henry Balzer, was a sister to my great grandmother Amelia Rabenhorst who married my great grandfather Herman Schutte sr. Anna I found some dates that said she was born June 3,1870 in Possen,Germany & died April 21,1964 in Amboy,MN. She is buried at the Union Cemetary in Mapleton,,and she immigrated here in 1883. She had a sister Augusta that married Albert Gerth, also around the Mapleton area. I think my great grandparents came over around 1881-1882,they had 8 children ,all born in MN,,one of them Herman Albert Schutte was my grandpa, and he married Lulu wein, sometimes called Backus in 1911. I saw one report where it said John Schutte married Lulu, but John never married,he died young from being kicked by a horse. Herman and Lulu had 4 children, one of them my dad Robert Schutte,b. Mar 18 1928,and is residing in the Mapleton Comm Home. My mom has passed, and one sister has also,I am now living in Florida,49 yrs old. I hope some of this helps

All that I have found is from census reports and a couple other documents which have stated their parents were Ferdinand and Albertine (spelled a couple different ways) Albertine was the girls mother and she came across I think 2 years after my great grandparents Herman and Amelia, around 1884. Albertine lived with Herman and Amelia, and her gravestone is right next to theirs in the Union Cemetery in Mapleton. I have a photo of her gravestone in my family tree on here. I'm not sure on any other siblings, but will keep digging.
