I wish I could help you more but they are definitely NOT in the book "Corlew Family Genealogy - Descendants of Edward Cordlew of York Co., VA" by Gary L. Corlew

Hardly surprising -- these individuals clearly belong to the "other" CORLEW family in the United States, the one that begain with another Edward CORLEW who arrived in Scituate MA c. 1730. His descendants moved first the Windsor Co. VT, then to Washington and Saratoga counties NY, and from there across the northern tier of states.

Perhaps someone has a copy of the history of this New England branch, "We Were Here: The Corlew Family Genealogy", by Larry and Vi Corlew. I've seen it cited but can't find it in the DAR or Library of Congress; I have no publisher and no date.

I believe they self-published it. I have not located a copy but would like to do so.

I've contacted the two researchers who've referred to it. I'll try to locate the authors, too.

There are several genealogies of the Corlieu family in France. There are two versions of the origin of the family, and there are descrepancies about marriages and the children of those marriages. All of these genealogies and their authors are discussed and quote in "WE WERE HERE", the Corlew Family GENEALOGY by William L. and Viola M. Corlew, chapter 3, "Corlieu in France". This book is available in the Family History Library, Salt Lake City, in the U.S./Canada section #929.273 c813cw. It is also available in the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville, TN, and the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, In #Gc 929.2 c812548c. Since this program cannot accept two versions of the genealogy, I have used St. Allais' version and will place brackets around children of M. Richards version on the family records.

Mr. Phelps, I shall send you some information that I uncovered while filing some paperwork if you like. I sent you a copy of Chapter 3, "Corlieu in France" previously when corresponding with you. Mr. Larry Corlew has NO intentions of publishing any further copies of his book "We Were Here".
The book was published in 1996 by Family History Publishers, 845 South Main Street, Bountiful, Utah 84010.

As a mattter of fact, I sent you several chapters of Mr. Corlew's book with his permission, since there will no longer be any further publications of his book.

Does the book make any mention of Amanda Malvina Corlew m. Thomas Moody Grubbs. Thomas is descended from Daniel Boone's brother, Samuel. Their son Benjamin m. Sarah Myers Comiskey? and their daughter Anna Malvina Grubbs, m. Harry Andrew Wall, their son Carl Frederick Wall m. Catherine Shingledecker and their son Carl Clifford Wall m. Jeanne Lois Foerster, my parents.

Yes, Jan, it does mention her. I shall quote "Amanda Malvina married Thomas Grubbs (Son of Cynthia Boone daughter of Squire Boone) and had eight children. They made their home in Illinois. They died just a few days apart--he April 1894 and she 29 April 1894 in Norwood Missouri."

Amanda is the daughter of Ransom & Fanny (West) Corlew. She is one of seven children according to the book. Forward me your e-mail address and will be able to forward to you a copy of the chapter about Amanda. She apparently was named after an aunt.

Like you, my husband is also descendent to Squire Boone.
