Hello, I have found what I believe if my 3rd great grandfathers death record from Norway. It appears here he died in Aure Parish. I found him in Aure Death records on page 400. His wife's name is Gjertrude Johannesdatter, which I know is correct. I had somebody tell me before that this isnt his death record but something else... Can somebody please read this record for me and confirm it is indeed his death record, and retrieve the death date and the information listed on the record? Please help me!

Hi

The person who told you this is not death records is quite correct.
This is the records of people moving into Aure parish.
I'm having trouble reading it, but it seems like Mikkel and his wife and daughter came from Surendahl (today Surnadal) to Aure in 1837.

Hi

At the bottom of the right page you find the family noted among people moving out of Surnadal parish.

I am able to read that they are going to Aure, but not the rest of the note.

Some time ago I recommended that you read a website article which has excellent guidance to understand exactly what type of Norwegian parish record you were looking at. Reading through that website article actually will help you so I'll repeat.

Good information about translating the formats of Norwegian parish church records during various time periods, many of the basic terms used and understanding how to use the information should be studied at this web site -

Thank you ViVi for your help with this record! I am glad to have a second opinion on this. I was just confused as to why I found it in the digitalized parish records under the death and burials column. Also thank you to Thoraway, I will read the page you sent the link to in order to help my researching!

You must have been paging through the death records for Aure which actually ended and the pages for "Inn- og utflyttede" lists began. Page 399 was the first page in that manuscript where the type of records had definitely changed. You were paging through and just didn't notice the change.

If we display the same page with the 'Bildeinformasjon:' set to display at the top of the page that gives you information about what you are looking at. The second line of the three lines that setting will display also makes the best to copy and share in forums such as this. It allows us to see exactly what book you are requesting help with, what time period, what page number AND we can page back and forth ourselves if necessary.
