Three Rivers; Alma Grace REED, 85, of 55378 Wilbur Road, Three Rivers, Mich., and a former resident of Sturgis, died Nov. 8, 2000, at the Riverview Manor in Three Rivers.

She was born July 17, 1915, in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of Charles Henry and Ellen Jane (WILLSON) FOOTE. Alma had been a Sturgis and Burr Oak area resident most of her life.

Alma was first married to Don SMITH, who preceded her in death. She then married Frederick Lynn BAKER on Dec. 8, 1953, in LaGrange, Ind. he died April 10, 1970. On April 23, 1973, she married Nelson B. REED in Sturgis, and he died Aug. 4, 1973.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis, where services celebrating the life of Alma G. REED will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Dennis Wheeler of Sturgis Church of Christ will officiate. Private burial will take place at Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Mich. Obituary is also at www.legacy.com

Alma was first married to Henry Merhman in Ohio but I am unclear as to the year. They had a son, Charles Eugene Merhman(my father) who was born sept 2 1930 in Napolean Ohio and died November 9 1981 in white pigeon michigan
