Hi Walter,

Saw your letter on my family & decided to
write to you.
Do you happen to know anything about a Peter
Healey who was married to Julia Wholey?
She was baptized in 1854 in Kilmichael Parish
County Cork. Have no info on Peter.
They settled in Bradford, Pa. Peter was killed by a train between 1896 & 1910.In the
cesus of 1910 Peter wasen't listed.
Are you by any chance related or know of
these Healey's?
Any help would be appreciated.

Replying to Walter Healey's reply to Miranda:
My grandfather was named John Healey- died in 1951 when my mother Dorothy was 9 in New York City. His parents supposedly came from County Cork. He was born March 15, 1900 and went back to visit Ireland when he was 12. He was a sports writer in New York City and liked to frequent the track. Is there any relation. My Mother's mother name was Dorothy also and I guess they married sometime before 1942 in New York when my mother was born.

Surnames: Healey
I was born Lianne Healey, granddaughter of a Harold Gladman Healey married to Nellie Cain, son of Frank Healey married to Emma. Frank moved from the Luton area to Leamigton Spa, Warwickshire in 1918. Does this tie in?

Doesn't look like we are from the same tree, however, had to let you know that my gfather was John Healey also from Sligo, Cork county. His son, my father, loved to go to the track(horses) too! In the blood??

hi miranda,

i'm a healey living in england and doing research into my tree too. i've just found the site although i see you've been looking since 2000! well, how far have you got??

i have lists of healeys from all over the world, from as far apart as the usa, australia, europe and south africa!

as you may know, healey is an old, old irish name mainly from county cork in ireland. it can also be spelt several different ways, i.e healy, healaugh....and this can lead to difficulties tracing you ancestors as they may have spelt their name differently.

you might not know that we have a coat of arms! this consists of 3 white boars heads, facing to the left, stacked on top of each other, placed in the centre of a blue shield. above the shield is a red kights helmet, (a bit like the one in shrek!), facing to the left. on top of that is a small lion.unfortunately we dont have a motto! but we are entitled to an irish clan kilt!!!

if you need any help, let me know, sometimes its easier from this side of the pond! bye
