Children out of Birth Order

Children out of Birth Order

Hi! Perhaps someone has asked this already but here I go:

I downloaded Family Tree Maker 2012 today and added my trees and synced them with Ancestry. While making reports to print, I noticed that all of the children are out of birth order when I go into their parents files. I have had to fix every one that I have looked at (I like them to be from oldest to youngest). Do I have to go into every file and fix them manually or is there a way to tell FTM to make this the same for all groups of children?

Thank you,
Melissa Allen

You have to fix each family.

This is a known flaw although Ancestry claims the majority of users want it the way it is....

With FTM 2012, you have to do each one manually and make sure that you have the blended children button turned off.

The Data Errors Report can find all children out of birth order

A global children birth order sort would be a good enhancement in FTM.

Maybe we will see it in a future enhancements?
