Any information on both ascendants of mine would be welcome.
They had at least one daughter Margaret Todd probably born abt 1835-50 (husband Patrick O'Dwyer b. 1843 in Hollyford (Gort, Gortmahonoge, Ballygeag), Tipperary, Ireland.
I know there is also a "THOMAS TODD" but I do not know if it is a brother or an uncle...
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide...
Catherine

Thomas Todd is father to Margaret Todd according to civil marriage record with Patrick Dwyer on 17 may 1868 Borrisoleigh and Kilcommon Church. Could also be brother.

I was delighted to find your post on the Todd family in Tipperary, I have been searching for a Catherine Todd for several yrs. I am making an assumption that her fathers name could have been Thomas, Catherine was married to James Rohan/Roughan of Barnagore Dolla Nenagh. James was married before and had a son Michael, called after his own father Their (Cath & James)1st son was called Thomas.
If you have any info on a Catherine Todd Rohan I would love to hear from you. Catherine would have been born in 1840 approx.she died aged 28yrs

Hallo Catherine
I have been looking into Todd in Anacarthy Co Tipperary as well, not related but they are one of my childrens ancestor through their father. I am fairly sure that William Todd born circa 1843 who married Bridget Ryan of Foilaclug and had 13 children is a brother your Margaret Todd ca 1846, as well as Mary Todd born circa 1855 and Nathaniel Todd, there is a strong possibility that they are the children of Thomas Todd who is mentioned in the Tithe Applotments for the parish of Anacarthy circa 1831. I did also come across on the internet a deed which mentioned both Dwyers and Todds
The Estate of Francis BULKLEY & John King FORREST, Esquires, Trustees of the settlement of Vere Dawson HUNT, Esq. situate in the Barony of Kilnamanagh and County Tipperary

Tenant's Names Tenure Cappagh Village Thomas TODD, reps of Martin DWYER Lease from Vere Dawson HUNT to Martin DWYER, dated 1st May, 1802, for 3 lives, viz: Martin DWYER, Jeremiah DWYER & Judith DWYER, two of which are in being viz: Martin DWYER & Jeremiah DWYER.
hope this is of interest to you

Hello Aoife,
I am very interested in all the TODD info that you posted.
Do you have a fuller listing of the children of Thos Todd?
I have only managed to get info from the Cappawhite records for:
Ellen born 1837
Catherine born 1839
Alice born 1842 and
Margaret born 1846.
I'm keen to hear how many more children Thos and his wife Cath Breen had. I got a Death Cert for a Thos Todd who died in 1871 aged 25 yrs which would give a birth yr of 1846.
He was a farmers son and from the parish of Cappagh, the informant was Nathaniel Todd (brother?)
The deed you mention is very interesting in that it gives a date of 1802 for Thos being in Cappagh, what a pity the records are so scarce and hard to come by.
I look forward to your reply
Mary

I am a bit confused with the infos. Patrick Dwyer married to Margaret Todd in 1868. He was not from Annacarty (South Tipperary) but from Gortmahonoge (North Tipperary). They married in Kilcommon Church (North Tipperary). I thought Thomas Todd & Catherine Breen and their daughter Margaret Todd were also from Gortmahonoge since they married in Kilcommon Church (bride's parish?) but in fact I do not know.
My Grandmother Catherine Dwyer (b1874), daughter of Patrick Dwyer & Margaret Todd, married James Dwyer (b 1870) from Annacarty (son of Jeremiah Dwyer & Bridget Mulcahy...
