Sandra - my gggrandfather was William J. Griffith born around 1829 in Ga., married to Louisa E. Thornton. They had a son, James M. Griffith, born bet. 1865-1866 in Ala. They lived in the area of Elmore Co. or Tallapoosa Co., Ala. William could have had a brother James, although there would have been about an 18 year difference in ages, which is possible.

William's father was Nathan (Nathaniel?) T. Griffith, mother was Judith Bowles/Booles. They were maried in Greene Co., Ga. on Nov 23, 1828.

Could any of this connect with your family?

Surnames: Griffith
Donna, Wow, this might actually be a connection! When I posted my query, by mistake, I stated that James/Jim was born in 1847. Actually he was born in 1867 in Tallapoosa County & his father's name was Bill or William. This is the most elusive family I am researching! Could you send me additional info on this family? When did William & Louisa die? Do you know what all their children's names were, etc. Where did the family originally come from, Wales? This is so exciting! Sandra Thompson

My William Griffith was born about 1829 (maybe in Georgia). He married Louisa Thornton in 1856 in Tallapossa County. His son, James Madison Griffith, (my great grandfather) was born about 1866 in Tallapoosa.
Our Griffiths are probably related. Do you have any other info then?

Sandra - I received an e-mail from the Griffith Message Board that you had replied to one of my queries, but when I clicked on the URL I was denied access to the BB. Send me a reply directly to my e-mail address and I will reply.
