Westville - George David Denoon, 87, of North Street, Westville, died Monday at home. Born in Hardwood Hill, he was the son of the late George David and Bessie (Dunbar) Denoon. He was a resident of Westville for the past 72 years. He was employed at the Acadia and Drummond Mines until his retirement. He served two terms as town councillor. He was an adherent of St. Paul United Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Edna MacDonald; three daughters: Mrs Jean Perrin, Westville; Kay (Mrs Robert Hoare) and Elizabeth (Mrs Ralph Thomsen), both of Stellarton; three sons: George and Hugh, both of Toronto; Lindsay, of Summerside; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The remains will rest at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting commencing at 7 p.m. today and from where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Auburn cemetery.

Westville - Funeral service for George David Denoon, North Street, Westville, was held in the Eagles Funeral home on Jan. 1. Rev. Harold King officiated and brought a message of comfort to the family. St. Paul United Church choir led in the singing of hymns, Amazing Grace and Abide With Me. Pallbearers were Shane Thomsen, Gary Perrin, John MacDonald, Robert Ferguson, Leonard Lacey and Ephriam Taylor. Interment was in Auburn cemetery.
