I am trying to verify some info concerning John Maxwell of Georgia. There are two dates floating out there for month of birth (6th May or 6th July 1806)? Which is it? Married to Jane Arrington on 10 September 1827 in Morgan county, Georgia.

Now, the big question is who was his father and mother? Many family trees point to Rev Thomas Joel Maxwell and Mary Pemberton, but I cannot find any official documents listing John as born to Thomas Maxwell and Mary Pemberton. There was a John Maxwell born to Thomas and Mary, but he was born in 1740.
