I'm in search of the location of GILMORE'S FERRY, which was located on "Little Creek" near Funny Louis Bayou" in Catahoula Parish in the mid to late 1800's (Now LaSalle) I know it was on Little Creek and possibly where it nears a bayou named FUNNY LOUIS.
There is also a mention on this web page http://www.lahistory.org/site27.php
under a article about Norris Jones that he oversaw "GILMORES FERRY-FUNNY LOUIS PUBLIC ROAD". I'm fairly sure it was on my gggreast grandfathers property, but which property? where? How was it used? Personal use? Public Use? When was it in use? I have so many qyuestions and the most important is where was it?
My family Surnames are GIMORE, COCKERHAM, GARNER, KEEN, LONG, and ODOM
STAFFORDS LANDING is named as the place of my great grandparents marriage in Catahoula and may have been in what is now LaSalle Parish.
ANY and all info is appreciated!
