Court records of Augusta County, Virginia, reflect "23 March 1779,relief of Rachel Cash, wife of John Cash, a soldier." The same records reflect: "10 Oct 1779,Caleb Cash, son of John Cash, age 5 years "to be bound." The same court records reflect "27 March 1780, Mary, daughter of John Cash, to be bound."
Two approved DAR applications indicate that John Cash served in the Rockbridge County Militia and in Lancaster County, PA, militia during the Revolutionary War.
There are indications that Rachel McAllister died prior to 1800 and that John Cash relocated to Iredell County, NC, where he reportedly died in 1805.
Two of John Cash's sons, James and Caleb Cash moved to Greenbriar County, VA (now W. VA), and then into Eastern Kentucky where they settled near Hazel Green, Morgan/Wolfe County, KY.
John Cash and Rachel McAllister may have come from Prince George's County, MD.
I would appreciate any information concerning this Rachel McAllister or her ancestors.
Sincerely,
Reis R. Kash
