I looked up the name Kampen wondering if there might be a connection to my Janssen ancestry line. My gr.gr.grandmother was Maria KAMPEN Scholte, b. in Bellingvolde and md to a Jan Temmes Janssen b. in Neuw Schans (spelling??). Do not know who their parents were. Their son, Wiert, was born in Nieuw Beerta, Groningen in 1857, and came to America in the latter 1800's. As far as I know, he was their only child to come to the U.S. I have no record about this family in Metherlands except what I could get from the old census records in that country. Thought with Maria's middle name being Kampen, there might be a slight chance that she somehow ties to your Kampen family. THANKS!
