Hi--I have some info that may be of use to you. James Bardin was my great great uncle - his brother Henry Horn Bardin has James William Bardin, who had my Grandmother, Alma Bardin. I have a typewritten transcription of 2 letters from John C. Holmes to James Bardin, from the Civil War Prison at Rock Island, Ill. Barrack 59, Dec. 18, 1864. My grandmother used to have the original, but it apparently has been lost. John c. Holmes was the son of James Bardin's sister Penelope and William Holmes. I also have a typed transcription of a letter from Cousin William Bardin to John C. Holmes in Tupelo, MS 1869. There's some others, too. Would you like me to xerox these and send them to you? If so, let me know, and send me your address.
