There was a Michael Mayer born in 1844 and immigrated 1869 who was of one of my ancestors, George M. Sellinger, in the old country. A Michael Meyers, stone mason, is shown living in Sellinger's household in the 1870 census for Rochester. Perhaps it is just coincidence, but the name of Sellinger's second wife was Maria Anna Gebhard (married 1878).
