Re: Hight Name in Arkansas

Surnames: Hight
According to census records the first person named Hight was Stephen Hight who appears in the 1820 Arkansas Census. There are several
James Hights listed in 1830 and 1850 and over 40 listed in the 1920
census. Would really need first names and dates to be helpful. Also would help to know if your folks were white, black or mix-em-up... as that is included in some census data.

Thanks for quick response. Sorry I was so light on the infor before. Here are the details.

Jesse E HIGHT b Dec 1889, Hazel Valley, AR m Clear M RAMEY b 1913 or 15 to William RAMEY and Mary Columbia BASSETT.

James Riley HIGHT b 1853 AR. He lived and d in Reed Twp. Have a copy of 1920 census. He m Eleanor or Ellen BLEVINS d of Daniel and Mary Jane OSBORNE BLEVINS, I think. I have been told she is on 1860 census for Johnson co, KY. Looking for children .

Archibald HIGHT b Georgia m Mary/Merry SHEPPARD b TN
need children as well.

The reason I gave so little info is that I thought I was posting for a cemetery or index lookup. But this is great because I have not checked all the census for HIGHT. Thanks so much.

Hi June,

I was wondering if you know of someone who could copy an obit for me. I am looking for a copy of Jacob Hoover's obit who died in 1912 and is buried in the green hill cemetery. thank you very much.

Debbie

Judge James Ivey: Court Case in 1870

My ancestors were involved in a "murder" that was described as a posse that killed Moses Ford when he refused to surrender to them. I am wanting to learn more about the characters that took part in declaring my gr-aunt's husband innocent.

What can you tell me about Judge James Ivey who may have resided over Mulberry Township where my ancestors lived?
