Not sure you are still researching the "Hehir's". My Great Grandfather came from Ireland about 1863. His name was Thomas Hehir and he changed it to Heher so that he and his brother Michael Hehir did not get their mail mixed up. Both Tom and Mike settled in Dunkirk, New York area. They came from a place near Milltown-Mulbay called Carncreagh in County Galway. What is interesting is that when I was cleaning out the old homestead in Oil City Pa. I found a Pittsburgh Newspaper dated June 1935 talking about Father Hehir of Duquesne University - it was about his death and all the things he did for the University. Ironically one of my daughters is working on her Doctorate there now.
