I have reviewed the Sierakowice parish films and think I have the answers to the Flisf/Zaborewska question. John Meronek and Barbara were my great-great-grandparents. First there is no Eva Zaborewska in the Sierakowice parish marriage records for the timeframe in question, and Zaborewski is not a very common name for this area at all. Eva was married, prior to her marriage to Adam Meronk, to a Brzeski. I believe the Eva "Zaborewska(i) information is probably from some incorrect oral history or possibly from someone who actually saw the record but got it wrong. I was able to make out something like a Zaborewska if I interpreted the entry a certain way, but it was not the right way. Also this film is split in two, with the left side pages at the beginning of the film and the right side pages at the end of the film. Someone may have gotten the date wrong if they didn't realize this and only looked at the left side page, in the first half of the film, which doesn't mention a date but does have the marriage number, #6 for 1832.
The actual entry information, as I read it: Sierakowice parish marriage #6, for 1832; Adam Meronk from Gowidlino, born in Moizewize, age 24; Eva Brzeska born Flisf, from Gowidlino, widow age 24, date 1/23/1832.
I also found a couple of siblings for Eva Flisf. The following are the birth entries I found. All were in Gowidlino and the name was spelled Flifs in these entries and not Flisf. Also a Davidowski was one sponsor for each of them, which could possibly indicate Magdalena's surname.
Andreas Flifs, Born 11/4/1803, Baptized 12/2/1803. Mathias Flifs and Magdalena.
Eva Flifs, Born 5/23/1806, Baptized 5/24/1806. Mathias Flifs and Magdalena.
Marianna Flifs, Born 6/26/1809, Baptized 6/30/1809. Mathias Flifs and Magdalena.
In addition, of the 9 children I found for Eva and Adam Meronk, 7 had as a sponsor Catherine Flisf and 2 had Franz Flisf. I don't now how they relate to Eva. Possibly other siblings.
Does anyone else have any other details? Possibly the relationship of Catherine and Franz Flisf to Eva, or Magdalenas's surname.
