Hello Keryn, a nice surprise to hear from you, thank you!
I have a feeling that you have probably got the same info that I have - it was originally started off by Fred & Mavis Littlefair. Lorraine Varris did a write-up in it on her father Laurie for the family tree.
I have since been researching the YTTING's myself and have added to it quite a bit - I keep in touch with Mavis and update her with new info as it comes to hand.
The most recent updates I have are -
1) marriage of Ane Marie YTTING(Ditlev's sister)& also that of his other sister, Ester Louise, and details of all her children.
2) 1880 & 1890 census - Ditlev's sister Pouline living with Ditlev's father Carl August.
At present I am trying to get to the bottom of the early life of Ditlev's wife Susan EDWARDS. I have copies of records when she was fostered out as her mother Sarah was a widow & destitute at the time. I am still trying to locate Susan's birth record.
Perhaps with your grandmother having lived such a long life - she may know something more of Susan? We know Susan had a brother, but don't know his name. Also was she told of how Ditlev arrived in SA? The story is that he was shipwrecked & lived on an island for several months before being rescued, continuing on & jumping ship in Adelaide. But we are beginning to wonder if it was just a story - some things don't seem to add up.
I'll leave this with you at present and perhaps if you would like any photocopies you can give me your address/phone no. & I can post them, I would be only too happy to. I live just out of Bunbury & am presuming that you are in WA somewhere?
