I have been reading threw these threads, I have the surname Deavor in my family also John and Rachel (possibly Alexander) were married on 11 October 1726 in Renfrewshire or Paisley Scotland. They were my 6th great grandparent's. Their son Robert Orr born 11 October 1749 and Died 3 October 1808. That married Ann Hogshed were my 5th great grandparent's. Their son Robert Orr (John Orr that married Jane Clayton's brother)born in 1781 and married Eleanor Douthit are my 4th great grandparent's and on down to me including myself, my son and my granddaughter I have 11 generation's of this family. I am still trying to find out who Rachel's parent's were and where their other children besides Robert settled. Also where John and Rachel Orr are buried.. I have quite a bit of information on the Orr side of the family if either of you want's to share.. My mother was a Mathis from Jackson County NC. Her surname's include Parker, Owen, Cathey's and others. The Robert Orr family that was from Old Bumcombe County actually settled and lived in the Little River Crab Creek area of Henderson County.
