Classification: Query
Surnames: McDanel, Beaver Falls, Pa
I am following 5-7 year old posts....and hoping to get lucky!
I was born in Beaver Falls, Pa and descended from one of those McDanels of Beaver County, but thought there were at least two separate lines. I had lots of Aunts and Uncles, but not as many as are listed in records.
My father always insisted that there were 5 brothers who immigrated before the Revolution, so the Archibald, son of one of the five(Eli, Smith, William, John or Joseph)seems reasonable.
My grandfather was a Howard McDanel born in the late 1800's, but census and other records indicate more than one Howard, with both naming sons after themselves!!( and all born in the early-mid 1920's) Gets confusing!
Aso, I have not bee able to trace definitively to earlier than the Civil War - but I wasn't positive about the Delaware connection. Always thought McDanel to be Scottish - but one of the posts suggest English origin instead? Any info available would be appreciated. Email to nieman85@msn.com Thanks
