Rote Chart

My grandmother, Florence Grace Rote (Yagel), appears on a long, scroll-like chart that her nephew gave me before he died. He didn't know much about the author (Alvin) who apparently was trying to update the family tree in 1913. I was curious if anyone knows whether he ever got information back from various Rotes to whom he sent his "draft", and if he ever "published" anything?? As you say, it appears that a lot of people have a chart, but is it this "draft" or a later printing? Alvin made a terrific effort, given that it is tough going back to the 1700s, but how much of it was verifiable? Seems to be a large "leap of faith" on the part of many people who are using this draft chart w/o much authentification. You indicate a lot of info on the Rotes. I'd be interested in what you would be willing to share. You may E-mail me at, or reply here.
