I see you are writing about the Thorntons and Crows; I am related to the Crow's through the Childress family(dad's family),and they lived in the Madisonville,Texas community.

I knew Joe Crow, cousin to my dad, William Charles Childress...My maternal great-grandparents were Thorntons who came from Alexander City, Ala. to the Wharton, Texas area to farm cotton and later moved to Houston

The names you mentioned are not familiar to me.

My Crows and the Madison Co., TX Crows, are unrelated.

However, both your Crow family of Madison Co., TX, and our Crows of Hill Co., TX, married into the same Childress family, that may be part of your William Charles Childress's family.

My great-great grandfather, Meredith Light,of Hall Co., son of Obediah, married Eliza E. Light (supposed to be no relation) and moved to DeKalb Co., AL. There are a great many Light relatives here and we are looking to connect to to the other children of Obediah. I am related to Obediah Light and wife, Mary Moore, of Hall Co., GA through their son, Meredith Light. He married Eliza E. Light (no relation) and moved to AL. Do you know who Eliza E. Light's parents were or any info on the other children of Obediah and Mary?

I am also related to A. J. Odom and wife, Elizabeth Yarborough, of Gwinnette Co., GA, through their daughter, Nancy Merrilla Odom, who married James Ransom Gilbert in DeKalb County, AL. J. R. and Nancy are my grandparents.
