I think I have found your G Grandfather, and his parents and siblings. All because he went to Gaol for 4 years, in 1893, and his trade is listed as a Land Agent.
Australian Town and Country Journal, Page 13, Saturday 4 March 1893:
A Conviction Sustained.
Before the Full Court on Feb. 24, William Edgar Harold Phillips, late general manager of the Austral Banking and Land Proprietary Company, who is now serving a sentence of several years' imprisonment for false pretences appealed against his conviction. The appellant was charged before Judge Gibson at the Metropolitan Quarter Sessions in November last with having by means of a false pretence induced Robert Crick to deposit £1,000 with intent to defraud, and being convicted he was sentenced to several years' imprisonment. The court held that the verdict was in accordance with the facts adduced in the evidence, and the conviction was therefore upheld.
Evening News, Sydney, Saturday 27 May 1893, states that he was sentenced, to four years imprisonment.
Evening News, Saturday 4 November 1893, details the land in his name (William Edgar Harold PHILLIPS), that has to be sold up, as he has not paid the mortgage. Parish of Bankstown, Parish of Minto, Parish of Liberty Plains, Parish of Bankstown, Parish of Willoughby, and Parish of Botany.
