I have just been prowling around Paperspast and Archway in NZ-
A Mrs CHIDGEY arrived from Melbourne in 1871 - see paperspast...and then I found this - you can order the files:

66. William John Burcher (William Burcher3, Mary Tindall2, Daniel1) was born on November 7, 1844 in Bredbo River, NSW,249 died on February 2, 1932 in Marrickville, NSW250 at age 87, and was buried in Rookwood Cemetery, NSW.
William married Eliza Harriet Chidgey, daughter of Cornelius Chidgey and Sarah Ann Ford, on June 29, 1874 in Hay, NSW.1276 Eliza was born on April 4, 1846 in Shoreditch, London, England and died on December 31, 1908 in St Leonards, NSW1277 at age 62.
Notes: Eliza Harriet Chidgey arrived in New Zealand January 10, 1864 aboard the vessel "Canterbury". Her family stayed in NZ and she continued on to Australia sometime between 1867 and 1874...and lists children

Description:
R.J. Meagher compiled a history (up to the early 1980s) of the Chidgey family from the arrival in New Zealand of Cornelius and Sarah Chidgey on the "Canterbury" in January 1864. The papers include photocopies of Cornelius and Sarah's marriage certificate and four family trees.
The novelist, Catherine Chidgey, born in 1970, is a descendant of Sarah and Cornelius.
