My name is mark farnan and my father was desmond farnan son of joseph farnan whose father was edward farnan from county monaghan. it seems edward came over to sunderland, england after/around the time of the potato famine. the reason they moved to north east england is that catholics were welcomed at that time more than in the south of england. Joseph farnan moved down to ondon looking for work and when settled brought the rest of the family down to london and that is how we ended up in london.
