I didn't have a Susan. And didn't have marriages for some of the children, including a second marriage for Catharine.
Do you have more specific info? Dates, locations, etc?

Thanks

I was surprised to get a response, because when I wrote up the Carl genealogy last night, I thought I lost it. I thought it never got posted.
I really don't know where to begin. I think that John and Catharine Wagner Carl moved from Chester County, Pa. to
Tyrone Township, Cumberland County, Pa. about 1809. Don't have the date right in front of me to check it out for sure.
Tyrone township was in Cumberland County, until 1820, when
Perry County was formed out of part of Cumberland County.
I have Jacob's children as: Jacob; John; Henry;Catharine; Hannah, wife of _______ Natcher, Hannah and ___ Natcher having a son John Natcher; Peter; and Elizabeth.
Catharine married Jacob Yeager, and their children were:
Jesse/Joshua; Mary; Daniel. Second marriage Catharine married George Emerick, and they had a son George. I have some more information somewhere about the Emerick family.
They lived in the Carlisle area, which is in Cumberland County, Pa.
Susannah Carl married John Kennedy, daughter of John Carl in Tyrone Township in September of 1821. This came from the Perry Forester newspaper, published in Landisburg, Tytrone Township.
I did not have Jacob's wife name. Glad to get that.
I have lots of Moses information, as I connect to them through the Bear family, but, I have no proof that Mary Carl married John Moses. The Moses family was an outstanding family in the same area as the Carl family.
I live just a few miles from where the Moses and Carl families lived.
John Carl had no widow when he died. I have a date of January 31, 1831, but, I don't know what it pertains to.
What do you have on George Carl? I have 2 George Carls.
One is John and Catharine Wagner Carl's son.The other is a son of Conrad Carl, and was married to Elizabeth Heckendorn.
I have wondered if they might both be the same person, and just got the fathers mixed up.

I don't have anything on George CARL. In Chester co Births by Humphrey, 1682-1800, there is not one shown.
I have several John MOSES in my file, but not one that married a CARL.

I am interested in the second marrige to George Emerick of Catharine, widow of Jacob Yeager. I did not have that info.

Thanks

I don't have any George CARLs in my files. In Humphrey's Birth for Chester Co PA, there aren't any shown. Do you have birthdate for him? or either of them?

I am interested in Catharine who remarried George Emerich after Jacob Yeager died. I did not have that info.
Do you have a date for him, and for their marriage?

Thanks

I cannot find more information about George Emerick. If I
find more, will let you know.
I do know for sure that Mary Carl did marry John Moses.
I found that while searching. They probably got married here in Perry County, as the Moses family lived here.

My records show that a Sarah Hipple, born August 12, 1816
in Rye Township, Perry County, Pa. (then Cumberland County).
She was one of 20 children born to William Hipple, and wife
Nancy Hostetter. Nancy Hostetter was born March 20, 1777.
William Hipple was born February 28, 1777, and died February 15, 1833. Over half of the children were born in Moneghan and Franklin Townships, York County, Pa.
William Hipple's birth is recorded in the records of East Vincent Reformed Church, Vincent Township, Chester County, Pa. His wife was born in Huntingdon Township, York County,
(now Adams County). William was a son of Fredrich and Anna Maria Hipple, both of whom died in Huntingdon Township.
William's first son Jacob was either born or baptized on April 14, 1797 at the Lower Bermudian Reformed Church in Latimore Township, York County, Pa. (now Adams County).
Unfortunately, the transcription of the Lower Bermudian records ends shortly after 1800 and there are no German Church records for the Mongeghan and Franklin Township
area of York County.
David Smeigh married Sarah Hipple. (The Smeigh family
comes into my Carl family). John Carl and Elizabeth Smeigh
Carl were my Great Great Great grandparents.
The oldest child of David and Sarah Hipple Smeigh was Margaret who was 16 in the 1850 census, so they probably were married in 1833 or 1834.
If there is anyone who can help me to get past John and Elizabeth Smeigh Carl, PLEASE DO.....THANKS
my email is barbandernie@pa.net.

Can't help with those that are out of Eastern PA or the SMEIGHs.

But here is what I think about Frederick HIPPLE, William's father - that he was a cousin to Jacob, Lorentz, John, Adam and Henry HIPPLE who were sons of Johannes HIPPEL, and the ancestry goes back to Europe where they came from.
There was a Johannis HIPPELL who emigrated age 40 on ship Glasgow on 9/9/1738. I think he is the father of 5 boys mentioned above.

In the will of son Jacob HIPPLE, who died 1772 in Pikeland, the executors were 'cousin' Frederick HIPPLE and Lawrence HIPPLE.

Here is will abstract:
HIPPLE, JACOB. [Place not given.] in Chester Co Will Abstracts, but Chester county gov't Archives shows he was in Pikeland.
November 10, 1772. December 3, 1772.
Provides for wife Anna. To grandson Lawrence son of Henry HIPPLE £3.
Grandson Jacob HIPPLE is to have my Bible. Remainder to son John HIPPLE and when he is arrived to the age "she is to let him to the sacrament of the Prisbeterian Religion."
Executor: Cousin Frederick HIPPLE, and Lawrence HIPPLE "for my guardian."
Wit: Henry HIPPLE, Conrod Sharar.

'Cousin Frederick' would mean that his father had a brother who had a son Frederick.

There is a Friedrick HIPPEL who emigrated in 8/24/1765 on ship 'Polly' from Amsterdam, via Cowes England.

In the Penn Archives, Series 2, Marriage Licenses prior to 1790, p 214, Frederick HIPPLE to Mary Rousbaughan on 9/2/1765. Unfortunately there is no location shown, but it was shortly after his arrival.

Frederick HIPPLE appears in Vincent Twp as inmate in 1769 and his cousin Lawrence HIPPLE is also on the list with 250 acres.

At E Vincent Reformed, in addition to Wilhelm/William HIPPEL shown as you have him born on 2/28/1777, of Frederick and Anna Maria, there were 2 daughters......Margaretha b 5/1/1770, and Elizabeth b 9/26/1771 born to them.

So Frederick and Mary left Vincent and went to York Co and died there? Do you have their death dates?
Do you know anything about the 2 sisters of William and what happened to them?

Thank your for the information you have given. Do you have all 20 children?

Diana

Barbara -

I am interested in your Natcher connection - I have Natchers in Carlisle during that time period. It's an extremely unusual name, I have only found one unrelated Natcher family that entered the country much later than mine. Do you have any other information about your Hannah who married a Natcher

I don't have much on the Natcher family, but glad to share what I have.
John Rudisill Natcher, son of Rudisill and Hannah Carl
Natcher, kmarried Margaret Turner before 1845 in Cumberland County, Pa.
John Rudisell Natcher was born in 1824 in Carlisle, Pa.
John Ru8disill Natcher died June 20, 1876 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa. He was buried June 22, 1876, in South Side Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.
His occupation was a contractor. His religion was Presbyterian.

Margaret Turner was born about 1823 in Pennsylvania.
She died after 1910.
Her religion was Presbyterian.

Their children were:
William Natcher
John T. Natcher
Sarah Natcher
Charles D. Natcher
Mary Natcher
Elizabeth Natcher
Stephen Natcher
Henry Natcher
Ida Jane Natcher
Alverda Natcher

Notes about John Rudisill Natcher:
Look into the Correll (I think Correll is the same as Carl)
family. Orphan's court:
The petition of Rudisill Natcher was heard, father of John R. Natcher of Carlisle, said John R. Natcher being a minor under the age of 14 years, who has interest in the estate of his grandmother Elizabeth Correll, late of Chester County, Pa. Guardian is petitioned, Jacob Carl is nominated
and appointed Guardian of John R. Natcher by the court.
(Quoted in Mrs. Flower's letter (#89)
It also says,"Mrs. Flowers thinks Elizabeth is Rudisill's mother, but I think she is his mother-in-law."
I REALLY THINK THAT ELIZABETH IS RUDICIL NATCHER'S MOTHER-IN-LAW,
because of the information I have. And, I think Elizabeth
is John Rudisill Natcher's grandmother.
The mix up comes from the following information:
Rudicil Natcher (1797-18660
Elizabeth
David Turner, Father of Margaret Turner
Rebecca (1788-__)

John Rudisill Natcher resided in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pa. in 1870.
In 1876 he lived at: 1214 Bingham Street, 28th Ward (at time
of death) He died of Chronic Hepatitis.

Notes for Margaret Turner.
In 1839 she attended the Wednesday evening female class sponsered by the Carlisle Methodist Episcopal Church and held at the home of Sister Lyon. Rebecca Turner also attended. In 1840 she is listed as a probationer. She attended classes in 1842 (with Rebecca and another with
Sarah Turner) and in 1844.
Her residence was Gist Street, near Ann Street, Pittsburgh, Pa.

If you can give me any information on my Carl family, Please do.I cannot connect my John Carl to this John and
Elizabeth Carl from Chester County, who moved to Perry Countynty (Cumberland County before 1820). BUT....I know they connect!
