Hi Nick,

In any of your references for the ownership of the Malt House does it say what the relationship is between the previous owner and the new one?

The reason I ask is because Marjorie and I are still trying to place family members and think it possible that the Thomas who left it to Thomas in 1792 may be the Thomas who died in Edgbaston in 1794 and was married to Hannah Nightingale and their son Thomas was born about 1757, matching the approx birth date for "Thomas the younger".

Also, in the will of William (dated 1775, died 1776) he left two farms in tenements to his grandsons Thomas & John, but named his son Thomas as executor and his other (eldest) son Clement got the main farm. I couldn't make out that he left his son Thomas anything.

Anyways, this leads in a roundabout way to the puzzle of which set of parents belonged to Thomas b. 1772/1773 who married Mary Ann Avern and was the husband mentionned in 1817, and to figuring out how Thomas & Mary Ann were related before they married each other.

Cheers,
Teresa
