Hello, Sara.........

I just ran across your post.....here is what I have to offer re your Mary HOLLAND....

Bertie COUNTY NC BIOS - John Harrell
http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/data/nc+ind...

According to this info, John HARRELL's g-granddaughter, Mary HARRELL, first married a Mr. HOLLAND, then she married Edward TOOLE...

ABSTRACT OF BERTIE CO MARRIAGE BONDS

http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/data/nc+ind...

1764
TOOLE, Edward and Mary Holland, Sept 26. Jaraldus Toole.

~~~
This entry from TOOLE family tree shows Mary HOLLAND was Edward's second wife......
TOOLE Family Tree
Edward TOOLE, Sr. was b abt 1715, d 15 Feb 1772, Bertie Co, NC. He married (2) Mary HOLLAND 26 Sept 1764.
One other interesting item...
HARRELL, TOOLE
I have never seen anything re the first wife of Edward TOOLE.....I am very interested in Mary HOLLAND, however...I think it is possible that she was my 5g-grandmother, Mary HARRELL, who m Theophilus HOLLAND...I have also seen her referred to as Grace.....
Mary was the dau of Abraham HARRELL......
Vol. 1, No. 2, N.C. Register page 226: "Abraham Harrell, Bertie Co. N.C. May 5, 1755. Sons Able and John, daughter Abigail, son Lot, daugher Grace, son Hezekiah, daughters Sarah and Susannah, son Christopher, wife Mary; sons Able and John Executors. Test Geor. House, Edward Toole, Israel Hardy Harrell" (See Abstracts of N.C. Wills by Grimes, page 152 for this same will, probated July Court 1755 Bertie Co., N.C. Son John received "my manner plantation."
executors: Abel Harrell, John Harrell
witnesses: George House, Edward Toole, Israel Hardy Harrell [son of John Harrell Sr of Roonoroy Meadows] Source: Grimes, Abstracts of NC Wills 1690-1760, pub. 1980, p. 152
~~~~~~~

The following info shows that Mary's first husband, Theophilus HOLLAND (my 5g-granddad), died before 1775.....I show a death date of 1760 from another source....

According to this tree, Mary died by 1768, which would mean she died 4 yrs after her marriage to Edwared TOOLE, but until we know for sure that this is the correct Mary HOLLAND, this is all guesswork......

HARRELL tree
http://www.lwharrell.com/Genealogy/aqwg75.htm#1787

Grace HARRELL was b abt 1735 in Bertie Co, NC. She d 1761/1768 in Bertie Co, NC. Grace married Theophillus HOLLAND in Bertie Co, NC. Grace and Theophilus Holland had at least two children. By 1775, their sons, Theophilus (born around 1756) and Henry (born around 1758) were orphans—William Adams was their guardian.

~~~~~~~~
So as you can see, there are loose ends to be tied together...
If I run across more info to confirm the above, I will post it here.......good luck to you, Sara!
