Andalusia was muslim and jewish along with others including spaniards (catholics). During the reign of Isabella and Philip the jews were forced to become catholic or leave or suffer torture. The muslims were also forced to leave or change religions. So, the origination of our family could be jewish or muslim or a mixture as the muslims were much more accepting of other peoples.

I like to think we are like a rich sauce, with many flavors well blended to bring out the best.

I would love to know more of our families history from you. My mother's father was Abdulhamid and her mother was Ourida Saadi. Maybe you knew of them also.

I feel so lucky as all my life I wished for cousins and a large family, and now that I am getting older I have found I have many wonderful people in my family, even though we may be far apart.
