Thanks for writing! I think John was born in Somerset, but I'll have to check to make sure. It was definitely England. There's still an old Farewell manor, now a senior's home in Somerset, that was the home of Sir George Farewell and his wife Mary Seymour. She was the daughter of Edward Seymour, who's sister was Jane Seymour, third wife of Henry VIII and mother of the boy Kind Edward VI.
I'd be grateful for any information you have. If you'd like to send an email address to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
, I can send you an invitation to my ancestry.com tree and anything else I have that might interest you. Somebody else contacted me last year who descended from Capt.George Farewell and I did get some information. Also, Mrs. Marguerite (Farewell) Jones from Oshawa sent me some wonderful pictures of the Ackeus Moodys and their families. Most of the pictures are on ancestry.com and I'd be happy to email them to you. I have lots of old Farewell pictures of people I can't identify, so any help in that area would be very welcome. Good to hear from you!
