The Minnie that I am researching more than likely lived in Missouri, possibly Rocky Comfort, in the later part of her life. I really thought that I had put what state, my misstake. Thanks so much to all.

My dad was born in Umbolt, Kan. in 1889. His
name was Howard Alonzo Coulter. He had a
sister named Mabel and she married a man
named John Long. They are both buried at
the Iola Kan. cematery. John and Mabel had
a bunch of kids, 11 I think and some of them
live in the area of Umbolt and Iola, Kan.
I knew one of Mabels sons, Clifford Long. He
was a very good person and died at 51 years
old. He is burried in Hobbs, N.M.
My dad left Unbolt Kan when he was 9 yrs.
and walked across Kan. to his uncles res.
in Keeysburg, Colo. and stayed until he
was 14. He went to Calif. to work in the
oil fields and married his first wife(his
step sister) They had 2 kids. He married his
second wife , Bertha Stickney, my mother
in the 20's and I was born in 32.and I have
a sister Mary who is 65. I have a copy
of a genaloy of the Coulter family dating
back to early 16 or 17 hundreds. I would
be gald to mail you a copy. Hope I am on
the right track with you.

I have a geneology of the Coulter families
of Pennsylvania. I would be glad to send you
a copy. It goes as far back as Charles Coulter, who is buried in a cemetary
near Slippery Rock Penn. Most all of these
Coulters were from around Grove City ,slippery Rock and Mercer Penn.
Let me know and I'll send you a copy.
This report was made by a Martha Coulter

I'll be glad to send you a copy of
A GENEALOGY OF THE MCALLISTER, CLARK
CORNELIUS, COULTER FAMILIES OF PENNSYLVANIA
It is about 15 pages long and goes back
to about 1701. It won't cost you a dime.
Email me your mailing address and I'll
send it to you snall mail. I did see
Mary COULTER but not a Mary Bash COULTER.
There are so many ansesters shown that
to me it gets confusing. There may be
something in there that will help you
out.

I am pretty confused on all of this. And I could
totally be wrong, but all I am trying to do is link
my grandfather Joseph Efton Long to his parents.
My mother has had a stroke and is a little sketchy
on details. She does remember her Grandparents
but not there names specifically. The bit of info
that I do have is that Andrew Long died in 1966.
My mother confirms that. And my grandma always
told me that my grandfathers dads name was Andy.

So now I am trying to link my grandfather with his parents,
so I am in need of some info on the children of Andrew
Minnie Counter Long.

They were alive during my mothers life and she was born
in 1944 so this Minnie Had to die some time
after that because my mom can remember her.

I know that I have probably babbled here and
I am sorry about that but like i said I am a
bit cofused at this point. I have however
sent off for a copy of my grandfathers
original application for a SS card and I am
hoping that it will shed some light.

Minnie Coulter Long more than likely from MO.

pklong11  (View posts) Posted: 10 Jul 2000 7:07AM GMT
Small detail left out they mor than likely
lived in MO. My grandmther Louise Lorena
Long grew up in Rocky Comfort and met and
married my granfather there. she was raised
by his great Aunt and Uncle Ike and Ona Long.

Mary Bash Coulter 1831-1915

The Coulter Family History I read at Madison WI or Des Moines, IA showed as follows
Johan Martin Bash 1738-1824
John Bash 1761-1850
Christian Bash 1804-1852
Mary Bash Coulter 1831-1915
Never did I imagine I would be anxious to contact current descendants, but that is the case now. If you don't find a good fit, I'll have to wait until I'm in Madison, or maybe some Coulter from this other branch would reply!!! Still looking forward to knowing the Coulter Family better - thanks

Shirley,
I'll be glad to send you a copy of the
Coulter's of Penn. It contains about
15 pages so I'll have to send them by
the Post Office. You will need to email
me your address at hac@arn.net so that
I can send it to you. I understand that
I am also a distant relative of John
Coulter of the Lewis and Clark expediation.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Shirley, I will send a copy of the geneaology
of the McAllister, Clark , Cornelius, Coulter
families of Penn. tomorrow. I was told by
a half brother that gave me this genealogy that we
were related to the John Colter in the Lewis
and Clark exp.
I am in the process of retyping the geneaology so it will be easier to read and to add more about my father and grandfather on another page.
This geneaology was written by Jane Coulter Ambrose in about 1935.
My interest is in finding and writing some
people who may be related to me as my dad was not a relative man.
I am also inclosing a letter from a Gerald Coulter from Tenn. that I found interesting.
He published a book on the Coulter families
of Tenn. I have a copy . He was unable to
find a connection. Howard Coulter

Lynn Watt...Were getting close but not quite a match. However, I am from Sault Ste Mariee, Michigan with relatives whom have married into the Black family and with relatives in both Michigan Ontario. My entire family line has been located except for a John E. Coulter born 1868, Goderich,Ont who was last seen in the US 1880 Census living with family on their farm located 9 miles south of Sault Ste Mariee, Mi. However, I have recently lucked into a real live cousin who is a railroad retiree who may be able to throw some light. Unfortunately he was away from home and his data base. He intends to send me the work that has been accomplished on his line when he returns home about mid Oct. So, very shortly I should have his data which should fill out the entire spectrum of my GGGrandfather's 5 sons who moved to Canada in 1838 from County Cavan, Ireland. Your inquiry is of intrest to me because my GGGrandfather had 4 brothers living close togather in Cavan who had moved away by the 1861 census. Their names were Thomas, John, James, William. We have assumed that they all moved to Canada and have now broadened our search to include these possible GG Uncles. I have 2 Minnie Coulters that are associated with my Coulters and area. 1. Minnie Coulter nee McKay who married Robert Coulter, divorced and married 3 more times (this was my inquiry that attracted your attention). Minnie Coulter b. Manitoulin Island, Ontario who married Findlay Rowat,b. 1887, Ontario, whoes sister Marie Rowat married my John David Coulter whoes Grandson Perry Coulter is still living on their original homestead on St. Joseph, Island,Ontario. Hopefully, the contacts that I should come up with next week will clear this situation up. So until then, keep your shirt on and keep in contact.
Please use my email address for some unknown reason, I can't get into my Family Tree Program while tied up to the Family History.com message board. Which I find quite awkward.

Hello, sorry i know nothing about Minnie. I have found my line and it says that Andrew (my gr-grandfather) was married to a Minnie Coulter, but I have a copy of my grandfathers original application for social security and it states that his mother was Flora Knight. Family confirms this. I was trying to see if anyone knew of an earliear marrige to Minnie Coulter.

Thanks,
Patti

I am looking for an Alonzo C. Coulter son of William and Louisa Keets Coulter. Alonzo was born about 1856 we think in Washington County, Ohio in Fairfield Township. He had siblings listed as Sarah M., Marion D., Oscar F., and Benton.
We believe something must have happened to the parents as they were only listed in the 1860 Census of Ohio with these children. Do you know of this family. Thanks for your help.

Your message is very interesting. My dad's sister was Minnie Coulter Long. My dad's name was Howard Alonzo Coulter. He was born in 1889. His dad's name was Alonzo DeWolf Coulter and was born about 1856 and died in 1938. I have a 14 page genology that was given to me by a half brother, and was written by a lady by the name of Ambrose in the fourties. It goes back to the late 1600's. Rather than go into it in this note, I would be glad to send you a copy of this, at no cost , if you will give me an address to send it to.My email is hac@arn.net.Phone number 806-356-6864 and mailing adress is 4402 Westhills Trail, Amarillo, Texas 79106

Wow this is the closest I have gotten in a while. I have a chart of my long ansestors that I found a few years back on the internet, the only thing that has puzzled me is that it has my ggrandfather married to Minnie Coulter and my ggrandmother was Flora Knight. was your dads sister married to a Andy ( Andew) Long.
