Ute ancestors of Nellie Waddie Leifhead. She was reportedly orphaned at

a battle around the area of Fountain Green in 1844 or 1845. Leifhead is

her adoptive parents' name. The Leifhead's moved to southern utah and no

one knows who her Ute family was. Any info. would be appreciated.

Nellie Waddie Leithead was found on thePlains my aunt
Dorah lived in Panguage Utah she had a bible that was a 100
years old at that time now it 20 or so more. she told me the
story of here .There was an Indian uprising and the Indians were fighting each other or the white man and the parents must have been killed ,so some indian Family took her and
they needed a horse and blankets so they traded her.They
then traded her again to some people called the Leitheads
they rasied her and gave her that name and then she Married
a justet.She is burried in Escalente with two children.

I knew she was buried in Escalante
her husband is buried in Hatch
I was born and raised in hatch
my father is Rober Evans
My Grandmother was
