Rita, I would like some more info from this book.
My GG Jacob M. Sowers was married to Martha Ann Allen
I didn't know about the first wife.
In the 1900 census, Osage Co., Ks, Martha shows that she bore 7 children, 6 living- my mother, Emma's daughter, knew all 6 and doesn't believe any of them were 1/2 siblings. Jacob M is buried (next to Martha) in Douglas Co., Ks . The cemetery records show that he died in 1922 not 1911. (Birth date is April, 1851. Emma was either the 4th or 5th child.
Thanks for your help My mom, Zelma, is 86 and quite amazing-she was curious -are we related? Thanks, Cindy

My great uncle was Homer Sowers, an osteopath in Sharon, PA. He married Florence Mills. I have no knowledge of his ancestors but would like to locate someone who recognizes his name and was been working on his line. Is it possible that he appears in the Owen book, "A Thousand Doors?"

Thanks in advance. Ted Mills

Hi! I'm wondering if there is a John Andrew Sowers (Sauer) mentioned in the book?
According to a story John was German and married Sarah Langley Boston. He moved to Canada during the Loyalist movement in 1783.
Thanks for your help.
Joy

How and where did you get the copy of the book. I realy would love to read it.

My search is brick walling with my g-g grandfather Edward Luther Sowers b: 25 Dec 1842 Mercer Va d: 14 Feb 1916 Popular Branch ,Currituck NC. Story told is his father was John A Sowers b: abt 1806 and worked for the railroad. John A was married to an Emmiline Stout. and they were married in Lynchburg Va 3 Sept 1827.

Edward was to have at least 2 brothers a (1)Tommy who owned and operated a furniture store in Bluefield Va and (2)John who also worked with the railroad (Norfolk & Western)Edward went to college and majored in music and minestry , when the War between the states broke out Edward joined the Army. I dont know any more about the other 2 brothers or the parents ( my g-g-g grandparents. If this rings a bell with anyone out there, I'd love hearing from you.
