Hello Teresa

Thanks you for the e-mail regarding the Averns of Rowington. My connection with them is a minor one, but if it contributes to your info that is good to know.

The decendant's chart you had posted contains more information than I had, as I have only recently discovered who Thomas Avern's family were. I am interested in Thomas because he is listed as the father of John Avern, who married Mary Morley (my great grandaunt) on June 2 1891, at St. George's, Lower Brailes, Warwickshire. They had no children, and Mary's nephew Philip John Morley (1891 to 1954) inherited the farm. My father John Bradford was named after his uncle Philip ... hence the connection.

Regarding Old Field Hill farm, I cannot confirm the facts regarding this, but the family story os that the Averns originally owned Manor Farm, Thw Woodlands, Rowington - but moved to Old Field Hill Farm which was smaller. I believe that this took place during John Avern's lifetime.

I would be interested in any other information you have on the Avern family. Supposedly my family had other connections to them, but I have no details on that as none of the family who were aware of this could remember anything specific.
