Colin---I am trying to find a connection in Ireland to my Mannix who died in Kansas.
Cornelius Manix sailed from Liverpool 13 Oct 1848; arr: New York 7 Nov 1848. He had his wife Nancy and 6 yr old son John with him. The family went to Ripley Co. Indiana. They were from Clair Co., Ireland, but my mother had a family album where it shows most of the photos were taken in Galway Co. Ireland. Unfortunately , my mother did not identify any of the photos. Cornelius and wife died in Kansas. While in Dublin I spent a lot of time with the Griffith's etc. but I could not find a connection. I don't know if my Cornelius was related to other Mannixes who came to America or left some immediate family in Ireland. John Mannix married Margaret Bowler in Kansas. The Bowler family had also come from Ireland a little earlier, but I don't know when.
Is this something you have right off the top of your head or is it something that is completely unknown to you. Thanks for any help or leads.
