My ex-husband's maternal grandfather's name was Chester Sylvester Agers Born: 6 Apr. 1890. Place of Birth: Butts, Mo. He married Dovie Irene King. She was born: 31, May ???? Place of Birth: Butts, Mo.

Chester's Parent's names were John Agers and Melinda ? I have no information on this couple or Chester's wife.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a John Agers. Dissappeared during the civil war era. A cousin of mine just responed to me. He is my John Agers' son, Robert Josiah Agers' son.

Check the Agers-Hatton response. Possibly, never had a last name for him.

'My' john Agers married a Jane Hatton and settled for a time in northern CA. Around 1850 he vanished, according to family legend,

I have a John Agers married to a woman named Melinda. No info on these two.
They had, I think more than one children. But one is named Chester Syvester or Sylvester (?) Agers born: 16, April 1890 Place of Birth: Butts, Mo.
Chester married Dovie Irene King born: 31, May (?) Place of Birth: Butts, Mo.
Chester and Dovie had at least 3 daughters.
I only know 1 of the 3 daughter's full name. Because she was my mother- in- law.
Her name was Rosa Lee Agers Born: 22 Feb. 1940. Place of Birth: Huzzah, Mo. Died: 07, Nov. 1985. She died of Cancer, diabetes, High blood pressure,and a heart problem. At the end she caught pneumonia (spelling?).
Her two sister's names are: Claudia and Georgetta.
Georgetta's husband died of a heart attack a few years ago. Georgetta remarried some time later. 2nd husband's name unknown.
Claudia's husband's name is Herman Gillam or Gillham. Claudia died some few years ago. I forgot what the family said Claudia died of.
Rose married a man named William Floyd Anderson. He lives in Nevada, Mo. He goes by the name Bill. Bill and Rose had 7 Children. Their names are: Lula Irene (Anderson)

James Chester Anderson (my ex-husband)
Joseph Louis Anderson (murdered at the age of 25 years old.)
Wallus Christopher Anderson
Henry Eugene Anderson
Tina Janice Anderson

My ex mother-in-law had said before she died. That when she had the children; My ex-husband weighed 14 lbs. at birth. His baby sister weighed 10 lbs. 4 oz. the rest weighed anywhere between 6 and 9 lbs. I forgot between which two children it was that Rose miscarried a boy I think.

That's all I have on the Agers family I'm researching.

Agers is so uncommon, that if we can pin down birth/death dates, maybe.

I not certain if you are still looking for information on the Agers' out there. My mother Helen Louise Agers passed away this past Tuesday. She has two living siblings Marcelous Agers, Jr. and Peggy Agers. Her father was Marcelous Agers, Sr. and Mother Geraldine Agers. There are very few Agers left and I am not certain that we are related to Chester Agers. My grandfather Marcelous senior was born and raised in Wascom, TX and all of his siblings have long ago passed. I only know one or two of their names, but could probably get more information. My mother, Helen lived in Vallejo, California for about 16 years and finally succumbed to cancer. Update for Helen Louise Agers. I am not sure, but I think that my mother is The Helen Louise Agers that you are refering to. She was born on May 2, 1953. She Died August 5, 2008. My mother was not married when she died. She left behind two daughters, my sister Malikia Brown ad I, Theresa Henderson. I would like to know more about the family tree. Please contact me.
