I don't think everyone has the same reasons for doing the DNA testing. I want to be able to fill in the gaps on my tree and be able to find missing links. However, I think some people are only curious about their ethnicity. For me, I just "weed out" my DNA matches by putting those with locked, little or no tree in the trash bin (retrievable later on if needed) which makes it a little easier to sort through my matches.
