Hi Susan and/or relatives of the surname Rebstein

We have corresponded earlier regarding my husband's ancestors, but according to you we weren't directly family.
I managed to find out that my husband's grandfather was Frank Woldemar Rebstein, born 29 November 1904 in Cape Town and passed away on 27 April 1964 in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was married to Joan Margaret Carstens - my husband's grandmother (they had 2 children) and Lizzy (maiden name Markgraaff)was his wife at the time of his death. Lizzy also had a son from a previous relationshi/marriage.
I am also struggling to take the surname Rebstein back. Are they originally from Switzerland, or is it possible that the surname was "Repstein" and derived from the Jewish German side?
I will appreciate any feedback.

Thank you
Belinda
