Since shared ancestor hints are based on paper trees only, what, if anything, is different about the men the women are attached to in both trees? Do you both have the same data or are the enough differences in the data that ancestry doesn't realize they the men in both trees are the same people? Did she marry more then once and your match descends from the other spouse?

It is entirely possible to have a shared ancestor hint but for that shared ancestor to not be where your dna matches...
