Dear Kim:
I just came accross your site while searching for a link to my ancestors. I am researching John Murchison Sr. and John Murchison Jr. who arrived in the colonies in 1773 and settled on Sir John Johnson's land in Tryon Co. New York. Both served with the Royal Regiment of New York (watt's Co. and Munro's Co.). Both were discharged in Montreal in 1783-84 and settled on lands in Charlottenburg Co. - Glengarry, Ontario. I am descended from John Murchison Sr. through his son John who moved to York, fought in the 1812-14 war and was granted land in Etobicoke, On.
Both John Sr. and John Jr. were granted land in Glengarry as were their other children.
Any information you have on these two men would be most appreciated, eg: parents, port of entry into the colonies, etc. I don't believe John Sr. and John Jr. are father and son as I have read conflicting information on this. Clarification would be appreciated.
Finally, have your passenger lists or other works on this topic been published and if so where can I access it?
Thanks;
Gary Murchison
