No I do not believe they are from Europe. Sadly, the people that would know the answer to who these people are all long gone-at least on my families side. My great great grandfather was mixed or "mulatto" as they called it then. I know that the man on the top row in the middle was his father. I also know that they were a prominent family from North Carolina. I was hoping if I could date the picture it would help me figure out who they are. My grandfather was born in 1826. I assume on a plantation (but that is a guess) His last name was Moore so I assume his father's last name was Moore too-but again this is all guesswork at this point.
