I don't recognize The Mobbs, Bishop or Humpheries names but Barkley is my last name. My family is from Dekalb County which used to be part of Cherokee County. Do you know the surnames Arther and Womack? Please respond as I think we might be able to share info.

This is a belated reply to your Nov. 1998 message on the Cherokee County Alabama message board on rootsweb.com.

Mobbs and Bishops have married into the Storys and Hardins of my family. But no Mobbs have married Barkleys in my branch. The most promising common denominator may be Barkleys, who are direct ancestors of mine. If you have any Barkley records say about 1860 plus or minus 20 years, e-mail me some names or pedigrees and we'll compare them. My direct ancestors' names that I know about are Hardin, Story, Rains, Barkley, Isbell, White, Johnson, Martin, Lane. These are all in and around Cherokee County

I am researching this line for a friend of mine. The names we are looking for are, Alfred E. Barkley,(from Cherokee Co. AL) Silas Barkley, and Paul Miller Barkley. If you have these names in your line I would love to talk with you. Thanks for your time.

Married Aquilla Your 8 Sept 1899 in Nashville,Ar. Henrys fathe William Handley and mother Martha unknown.The Yourk family were all in Al. around Clay Co.Aquilla York Handley remarried and would like to know to who. My GG Grandfather was William M. Trammell from Cherokee county Alabama. He was born in 1883 and died in 1970 in Floyd County, Georgia.

I am not sure of any of his siblings or parents. If you come across this name please contact me. I will keep your names in my list to also search for.
