Hi Angela

Greetings from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
I have a Francis HANRAHAN b 1800 St Johns parish, Limerick city, son of Michael HANRAHAN and Ellen. Francis was a foot soldier with the British army and was stationed in England, Ireland, Ionian Islands and Australia. Francis shortened his name here in Australia to HANRAN and it is by this name that his two sons and their descendants have been known.I have often wondered if some members of the family could have gone to the USA but it's probably a long shot. Like Francis, your Michael could have served with the British army and later emigrated.

Cheers
Ray
