I have only been able to skim over the newspaper this morning but did find two references to a J.S. Gadd He seems to have been the Editor in 1888 and 1889. Ref as follows:

Back in the year 1888 when Dresden as a town was just six years old, the publisher of the Dresden Time, Mr. J. S. Gadd devoted two full colums of his front page, issue November 15, to the lurid details of a murder in Dawn Township.
and:
Life was real, life was earnest in 1889
It was a mixed bag of local news that editor J.S. Gadd came up with for his front page issue of the Dresden Times of July 18, 1889 Most weekly papers of that era followed the British format: no screaming headlines and Gadd's weekly news was encapsulated under a single column heading "Local Happenings."
These two headlines then go on to full page articles about the goings on of the townspeople.

I will keep your names of interest with the paper and may find something else later. I didn't realize how time consumming going through about 100 pages of straight Dresden history would be. It sure would be great if the North Kent Leader was still around (are they?) and could re-produce the centennial Edition. It is fasinating reading with so many names and stories printed.
