Just something I've observed, and an observation I've seen posted elsewhere on the boards. I have not seen men named Florence among the McCarthy-Sowneys, at least in Drimoleague. I have yet to find a Florence in the Sowneys.

If you read Leila's note starting this thread again very closely, you'll learn that Timothy Dennis McCarthy of Coolboy was the father of Florence, who went on to marry Ellen McCarthy (1854) of Lissane. Ellen was the daughter of Cornelius.

I don't have information on the Coolboy McCarthys, who as far as I can tell were not Sowney. On my web page I have family trees of some of the Sowney families from near Drimoleague, including Lissane - to the extent of my knowledge. It is a working model so any corrections are welcome.

Cornelius McCarthy of Lissane (Ellen's father) had a number of siblings. They are listed in the JPG chart and PDF file on my web page. I think you've been emailing Patricia. She has pretty much the same info I have about the Lissane McCarthys as I have - but as she is descended from Jane, a sister of Cornelius, she might have a little bit more.
